Terms of Service

Last updated: 16 September 2026

These are the rules for using Kardio. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Kardio.

1. What Kardio is

Kardio is a study app: you create flashcards (by hand or with AI help), review them with spaced repetition, sync them across your devices, and can share decks with other users. It runs on iOS and the web and is operated from the United Kingdom by the person named in our Privacy Policy. Kardio is currently free to use, with every feature included.

2. Your account

3. Your content

You own the decks, cards, documents and reviews you create or upload. You give us permission to store and display them so the app works — for example, to show a public deck to other users, or to send a document to our AI provider when you ask for cards.

When you make a deck public, you allow other Kardio users to view it, copy it into their own collection, study it and rate it. Making a deck private again does not remove copies other people already made.

Only share content you have the right to share. Do not upload material that infringes someone else's copyright, including textbooks, commercial question banks or papers you are not permitted to redistribute.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use Kardio to:

You can report any deck, review or user from inside the app and block users whose content you do not want to see. We review reports and may remove content or close accounts that break these rules, with or without warning.

5. AI-generated cards

Cards written by AI are suggestions. They can contain mistakes. Check them before you rely on them for an exam or at work. Generation is limited to a fair number of requests per day; we may change the limit.

6. Our content

The Kardio app, its design, name and logo belong to us. Starter decks provided by Kardio may be used within the app for your own study. Please do not copy or resell the app or its branding.

7. Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Kardio running, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may add, change or remove features, and we may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; continuing to use Kardio afterwards means you accept the new terms.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account, or by emailing us (see how to delete your account). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. When an account is closed, its data is erased within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Liability

Kardio is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using (or being unable to use) the app, from content other users post, or from mistakes in AI-generated cards. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Any dispute will be dealt with by the Scottish courts, without affecting the protections you have as a consumer where you live.
